The next two dresses illuminate every characteristic that makes us love Chanel so much. The first, a ready-to-wear piece from the 1980s, features drapes of knit jersey, satin lining, gold and black enamel buttons, and pockets (how revolutionary!). This delicious Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche bolero is a study in contrasts: made from velvet-soft suede, it's etched with metallic snakeskin geometric patterns and piped with creamy calfskin leather. PIERRE CARDIN HAUTE COUTURE 60S AND 80S

A lot of people think that Pierre Cardin's output was primarily 60s mod dresses with bull's eye motifs and vinyl trench coats. He's had a much broader output as these two Haute Couture examples showcase. The first, is an early 80s Tahitian print one shoulder sensually draped cocktail dress. The other a 60s aubergine dress light crepe dress which fool's the eye to thinking it's two pieces, when in reality its a dress with a surprising deep plunge back.

THE LIL-EST LEIBER EVER

You may ask "What's the point" of these teeny-weenie little nautilus shell Leiber in a shade of aqua. It won't fit a phone, or a lipstick, it will fit a few quarters, a handle of altoids, and maybe a origami-like folded Benjamin, but that's about it. It's nice to have around your neck, but don't dance with it unless you want to cause whiplash to someone on the dance floor! It's a nice "objet" to have in the house, on the coffee table, for example.

If you're a Leiber collector, you don't need any justification, do you?
